Belvedere Elementary offers After School Clubs!
After School Clubs are held on Mondays or Thursdays in the Fall and the Spring from 2:25 PM to 3:45 PM.
Your PTA, Teachers, and Administrators are working together to provide a variety of offerings that will engage students of all ages, create excitement in learning, and deepen relationships.
What you need to know about After School Clubs:
#1- Our volunteers, teachers, and administrators are dedicated to these clubs as a way to enrich our school. Please be kind and patient with us as we are all working together on behalf of our community.
#2- Registration will be announced through Parent Square Communications.
#3- There is no cost for our School Sponsored Clubs. Registration is FREE and open to all students in the appropriate grades. Girls On The Run is an exception to this. The cost for Girls On The Run is $175 per student. Financial assistance is available through Girls On The Run Chesapeake.
#4- Exact dates for each club are listed on the registration forms.
#5- Students must be picked up at the end of the club promptly at 3:45 PM by a responsible parent or caregiver. No children will be allowed to walk home unaccompanied. If your student attends SKP, please add it as the "additional adult" name on the registration form. PTA parent volunteers will see that your students are escorted to SKP.

Does your child love to draw, paint and create?
Art Club is a great way for students to get creative, learn new skills and have fun! Students get to create a variety of projects that will spark their passion and enthusiasm for art.

Chess Club teaches students the basics of the game of chess and encourages them to build their skills through one-on-one play with other students. Students are challenged to think critically, encouraged to be flexible while having fun and making new friends!

Does your child enjoy coding and problem solving?
DASH Robotics Workshop teaches basic programming using DASH Robots. Students will engage in 21st century skills including hands-on experience, collaboration, creative thinking, problem solving, computational and sequential thinking and spatial relations.

Improv Club is a great way for students to build confidence, communication skills, and have fun! Students are challenged to respond to a variety of scenarios, react on the spot, and be creative in their thinking.

Logic Club is a fun and collaborative way for students to put their critical thinking skills to the test! Each week students with stretch their brain with a new puzzle to solve using logic skills, critical thinking and creativity.

Does your child love to understand how things work and why?
The Vex Robotics club allows students to work together to build and design robots. Their critical thinking skills will then be used to get their robots to follow sequences and codes. This is a fun way to explore the world of robotics with hands on experience and like minded friends!

Additional Clubs - Schedules Vary
Does your child like digging in the garden, planting seeds, and watching things grow? Are they interested in helping beautify our school grounds? Are they interested in how our school recycling works and in helping us with our NEXTREX recycling program?
If so, TEAM EARTH may be the right club for them! Team Earth is going to be offering a variety of mini sessions this year to maximize participation in keeping Belvedere Green! Students will help with a variety of projects, beautification tasks, learning and growing.
We will work together to keep Belvedere Green and growing! Club Sessions will range from two to three weeks.

Do you have a 5th Grader who loves STEM? Is your child excited to learn all things in engineering, robotics, and how things work?
The Sea Perch Underwater Robotics Club is sponsored by the Advanced Co-Curricular office in Anne Arundel County in conjunction with the office of Naval Research and the United States Navy Academy.
The Sea Perch program engages students in STEM activities in which they design and build an underwater remote operated vehicle (called a Sea Perch).
The initiative focuses on bringing academia, government, and industry to work together to nurture student interest in marine biology and engineering.
Students use drills, PVC cutters, and learn to solder. Also, students will earn the exciting opportunity to participate in the Spring Expo at the US Naval Academy.

Does your child want to boost her confidence while elevating her physical fitness? Does she want to be a part of a group of girls who are harnessing thier "I Can" power?
Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake offers lessons taught by trained volunteer coaches who create a welcoming environment using our evidence-based curriculum. "Hello, Mountain Mover!" lessons teach girls about their I CAN power.
What can you expect this season? Your Girls on the Run team will meet twice a week for ten weeks. Coaches will lead fun activities and discussions. Together, your team will create a project that supports your community. At the end of the season, you'll celebrate by participating in a non-competitive 5K celebration on April 26th.

Art without Boundaries is a welcoming after school club where students of all abilities come together to explore the world of art. Through hands on projects students will explore different art materials, while building friendships and confidence. The club encourages teamwork and acceptance making sure everyone has the chance to shine and contribute in their own special way.

Does your child have an interest in journalism, story telling, and capturing memorable moments?
The Yearbook Club is looking for students who are interested in learning about how a yearbook is made, the journalism and writing skills needed to create content, and lending their time and talent to create the 25-26 BES yearbook. Yearbook Club members will choose the theme, design the cover, and create the content for the first 15 pages of the yearbook.
Interested students can apply by filling out the application below. Applicant's 4th and 5th grade teachers will also be contacted for recommendations. Students need to be able to attend all club meetings, make phone calls to conduct interviews, and use a computer at home to access the web-based yearbook software. This club will meet from October through the end of April.
